Amy Poehler

  Amy Poehler, born September 16th 1971, is an American actress, comedian, and writer. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and ImprovOlympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group moved to New York City in 1996. In 1998, their sketch comedy show was released on Comedy Central. Along with other members of the comedy group, Poehler is the co-founder of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.



 Poehler was part of the Saturday Night Live sketch-comedy cast in 2001. She was a co-anchor on SNL's Weekend Update in 2004 until she resigned from the show in 2008 to star as Leslie Knope in the sitcom Parks and Recreation.
